Takuya Yoshida’s oil paintings express a quiet yet profound joy that is often overlooked in today’s fast-paced, overstimulated world. Through his deliberate use of color and texture, he invites viewers into a space where time seems to slow down, allowing fleeting moments, sensations, and connections to be more intuitively felt and appreciated.

타쿠야의 유화 작품은 빠른 속도와 끊임없는 자극에 익숙해진 현대 사회 속에서 쉽게 지나쳐지는 소박하지만 본질적인 기쁨을 담아낸다. 그의 색채와 질감은 잠시 속도를 늦추고, 보는 이로 하여금 주변의 감각과 순간들을 천천히 음미할 수 있는 세계로 이끈다.

Born in Tokyo, Takuya moved to the United States at the age of 17 to pursue competitive skiing. While living abroad, he developed a deep interest in art and went on to receive his BFA from Plymouth State University, followed by an MFA from New York Studio School. During his studies, he worked closely with painter Graham Nickson, gaining deeper insight into artists such as Frank Auerbach and Francis Bacon.

도쿄에서 태어난 타쿠야는 17세에 뛰어난 스키 실력을 기반으로 미국으로 건너갔다. 해외에서 생활하던 중 기존에 가지고 있던 미술에 대한 관심이 커졌으며, Plymouth State University에서 BFA를, 이후 New York Studio School에서 MFA를 취득하였다. 재학 중에는 그의 교수 Graham Nickson과 가까이 작업하며 Frank Auerbach와 Francis Bacon 등의 작가들에 대한 깊은 통찰을 얻었다.
